About

Dr. Jessica Yeager, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Jessica grew up in the southeast before moving to Oregon in 2018. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice specializing in psychiatry from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. She previously worked as a registered nurse in a variety of specialties including kidney and liver transplant, burn ICU, the emergency department, and outpatient mental health. She noticed a reoccurring theme in every setting: mental health issues are strongly linked to physical health. This motivated her to specialize in psychiatry so she could bridge the gap between the mind and body.

Jessica uses a variety of techniques to treat mental illness including medications, supplements, diet, and exercise. As her practice grows she hopes to offer support to her clients in all aspects of their mental health journey.

When Jessica is not in the office she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two young children, and two rescue dogs.

Components of Mental Health

Mental health is linked to every aspect of our lives

Diet

Basic premise- what we eat feeds our brains. Our "happy chemicals" can't exist without adequate nutrition.

Sleep

Possibly the most important factor in our mental health. Our brains require rest in order to heal and process our daily experiences.

Exercise

Exercise has been shown again and again to positively impact our mood and memory. It can be as simple as walking or going on an afternoon bike ride.

Self Care

We all need time to relax and focus on something we enjoy. If we don't "fill our cup" we will have nothing left to give.

Gut Health

We can't absorb the required nutrients without a properly functioning gut. This is why it is important to support your body with the right nutrients.

Stress

Stress leads to increased cortisol levels and inflammation, two root causes of mental illness. It is impossible to live a stress-free life which is why managing your stress is key.
